Aleyda Lopez, MS CCC-SLP, left her hometown of Chicago and joined Joy Opens Doors in July 2021. She received her Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Southern Illinois University in 2021. She loves working with autistic children and in early intervention, and she hopes to specialize in feeding therapy. She has completed training in DIR Floortime, Hanen More Than Words, and in hippotherapy from the American Hippotherapy Association.
Her favorite thing about working as a speech therapist is “watching clients have fun during my sessions and seeing their progress over time.” Leyla is a United States Veteran, and she has been in the military for thirteen years! She aims to become a Chief Warrant Officer in the near future. In her free time, she loves to go hiking, to museums, and to read!
