Chiu-Ssu Hsieh

Chiu-Ssu is a cat lover, and dreams of having a cat sit on her lap while she enjoys a cup of hot apple cider in winter. When she’s not at work, Chiu-Ssu likes to visit museums to check out the latest exhibition, read books, and go hiking!

Chiu-Ssu Hsieh joined Joy Opens Doors in October 2021 as a CF-SLP. She received her Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Emerson College in 2021. She was born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, and she moved to Boston for graduate school after completing her undergraduate degree in Taiwan.

Chiu-Ssu enjoys working with autistic children, and she is interested in child language development, bilingualism, and social communication. She says, “Being bilingual myself (speaking Mandarin and English) motivates me to facilitate clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. I hope to specialize in coaching clients and their families with integration of a family-centered approach. My favorite thing about working in speech therapy is to empower clients and their families through collaboration. It is so wonderful to join clients’ journeys in developing communication competency and celebrate their growth and achievement along the way!”
