Megan joined Joy Opens Doors in May of 2021. She graduated from San Jose State University with her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy in December 2020. She is originally from Orange County California, and she played collegiate basketball for UC San Diego! She says “My favorite thing about occupational therapy is assisting clients to improve their skill set so they can engage meaningfully within their community and achieve their personal goals!”
Amongst her other clinical experiences, she has worked with families experiencing homelessness, and has facilitated sessions on topics including stress management, leisure exploration, emotional regulation, routine building, and infant massage. She is eager to continue working with sensory integration and processing, animal assisted therapy, and universal design. When Megan is not working, she loves traveling, photography, and gardening.
